That was... interesting. Glad it's over.

It got me thinking, though. Does anyone know a good place to get a haircut? [City, you don't understand, the shaved parts are starting to grow out, they need to be shaved again]

Better yet, does anyone have any good ideas for passing time? Fixing up this solar surfer gets a little monotonous sometimes.

[There's a looooong pause at the beginning of this transmission. Then a shuffle as it's picked up from the ground and a groan.]

Jeez...

Wasn't I just here? Not again...

A couple of things.

First, I haven't heard him yelling anywhere so. Anyone seen Gokudera around? 'Cause he left some papers and. Yeah, need to talk to him.

Second... Ginny said this is a day when people from anywhere show up for a couple of days. Sooo... If there's anyone from home, uh. Contact me on this thing.

[meanwhile, Jim's out and about around the Square watching people.

... Soooo many people. He'll just take this seat here at the fountain, yep.]

[ooc; it's 4th wall! Bring him anyone, do your worst. Action or network tags are totally cool o7]

[video feed opens to a sandy beach, waves splashing in the back and one (1) Jim Hawkins with a metal contraption looking a bit uneasy at the camera.]

Hey, do you really hafta record this?

Do you want to check the flight patterns or not? I'm not making a network post. Start it already.

Fine, fine. Just-- Stay out of the way.

Tch! Tell it to your grandmother."

[camera starts awkwardly panning out as Gokudera steps back. Jim grabs the surfer's guard-rail and runs along the waterline with it and-- up it goes! Slowly climbing and Jim looks fairly proud of himself jumping onto it. For a few minutes everything was flying and nothing hurt and once it's ten feet in the air ... it starts losing altitude oh no. The flyer starts trailing smoke and careens to the water]

Shit--fucking idiot, what scraps did you--"

[the camera jostles a bit before the feed cuts out. RUN, GOKUDERA, RUN]

Well, that was fun, huh? Everyone's recovering, I'm guessing. Luke? Ginny? ... Angry guy? You're all good?

With all the excitement over, we can go back to doing whatever, huh? After rebuilding some stuff, of course.

Speaking of... Uh. I've been trying to keep an eye out for stuff, but would anyone know a good place to find building materials? Like scrap metal and bolts and stuff? Either I'm looking in the wrong places or there's not much of that around. There's gotta be something after all of that, right?

So those were the curses I read about, huh? Weird stuff.

Hey, uh. ... Everyone I talked to before, thanks for helping me figure stuff out before.

Sooooo. I know I asked Edmund before, but what do people do around here to pass the time?

[ooc; APPARENTLY I'M GOING OUT FOR LUNCH?! I'll get tags when I get back jflkajf]

Oh-kay, so this obviously isn't the Legacy... It's not like I could get on the wrong ship or anything but -- how do I just lose a boat?

...Huh. [EXAMINATION! This comm device looks pretty interesting.] Guess the red light means it's recording... Recording what.

Hey, uh. If there's anyone listening on this thing, can you tell me where I am? I was doing something and I really need to get back to the ship. So...

[there's an unsure silence following before the recording is turned off]

FAQ

The setting of Treasure Planet can be a bit misleading without the directors' and art supervisors' notes to compliment it, so to avoid some confusion as to what I'm referencing and playing out, this is a FAQ hopefully answering anything you might have questions about.

All the information here is resourced from the Treasure Planet: A Voyage of Discovery art book.

⇒ The setting of Treasure Planet is very science fiction, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's technologically advanced. The designers said, "what if humans reached a certain level of technology, then went a different direction (solar power) instead of electricity?" With this in mind, they implemented what they call the 70/30 rule: everything is presented as 70% traditional, 30% technology. It gives the world a very steampunk-esque look to it. This means while they have solar powered wind surfers, there are no microwaves. Hologram lockets, but no televisions.

⇒ Montressor is a predominantly rock planet that was originally inhabited for its mining industry. In the last decade or so, the industry has started to go bad and many of the inhabitants have left for greener pastures.

⇒ As a mining planet, there's very little in the way of foliage on Montressor. And even less when it comes to large bodies of water. The planet itself is very gloomy and overcast 90% of the time with very few bright days.

⇒ The Etherium itself is not technically "space" as we know it. It's described as a space with oxygen and water-like qualities.

⇒ Their galaxy is an empire ruled by a queen. It's set to be very similar to old-world England with the Queen's Navy and such. The main industry is in shipping, be it minerals, textiles, etc.

⇒ There are almost no humans left on Montressor, particularly in Benbow village. If you watch the Benbow scenes closely, you'll notice there are no other humans there besides Jim and Sarah. Most, if not all of them, have left the planet. Jim's not seen so many humans in one place before in his life. So don't be surprised if he stares a lot.
